back at Hawk Run Hollow..and a beautiful exchange received!

First block of Shores of Hawk Run Hollow is finished..I love it!
It is made with DMC threads except for sea colour which is the recommended Needlepoint silk colour. I didn't find a DMC colour similar to the Needlepoint one that satisfied me :)

This is the LHN exchange received from Cecile in Belgium,http://cecilevf.canalblog.com/ ...isn't this little bag wonderful? I really love it, and I am using it to keep all my HRH fabrics in it! Merci beaucoup, Cecile!!

I'm almost done with second block of Shores of HRH, because I have started it while I was waiting for the silk thread to finish the first one.

And...I am sure most of you already checked Kathy Barrick's blog with the prewiew of some blocks of Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow which will be released at Nashville Market later this month. But if you missed it, don't forget to visit http://kathybarrick.blogspot.com/ . I can't wait to have the chart!

Last finishes for January

Oh my, I can't believe it's February already!
But it is, and Phil the Groundhog this morning predicted six more weeks of cold winter. And it's not hard to belive, God, we are freezing in those days!

But stitching warms my heart, at least.

Those are my last fnishes for January: all Christmas finishes!!
"Snow Day" is a pattern of Tanya, The Sampler Girl. I have stitched it one over one with a dark blue 32ct. linen.

"Deer Stocking" is a pattern that Nicoletta Farrauto of Niky's Creations featured in Nov. 2009 issue of "The Gift of Stitching"
Those two are a part of my very own personal SALpin 2010.

And last but not least, for the Bride's Tree Sal ( http://bridestreesal.blogspot.com/ ) I stitched the very cute chart that Diane of Little House Needlewors designed for us members of LHN CCN Yahoo! group. I have turned it more Christmassy, even because I have stitched it on a Lurex Zweigart linen :) Bride's Tree SAL theme for Jauary was "House",so I thougt it was perfect, isn't it?

This is the month of February from Little House Needleworks. I love those colours, aren't they lovely?

All for now, time to go to bed here in Italy.
Be cozy, in stitches

Happy New Year! I'm back...

Last time I wrote here I was in the USA, it means it was August, and that means that it's TOO much time!!

Her's some finishes from late 2009 and early 2010.

This is from last year. I stitched those souvenirs for my grandparents who celebrated 60 years of marriage. A big goal, isn't it? :) The souvenirs were for all my relatives.

I started stitching both "Christmas At Hawk Run Hollow" and "The Village Of Hawk Run Hollow", I am stitcing one block each, those are the first two:

Those are Blackbird Designs January Stocking. My birthday is on January 28th so Birthday stocking is perfect. I have stitched only 3 candles because I'll turn 30 this year...

This is my calendar: this is January from Little House Needleworks, I am on February now and I will finish it before January ends :)

This is something I stitched both for me and my friends as a Christmas present: the picture of us in Berlin with this Berlin stitching. Chart is from Kirsten Schmidt, a very nice girl!! The black/yellow/red thread, inspired from Germany flag, was hand dyed by me :)

and as I loved Berlin result, I decided to frame those two 2009 finishes of NY and Philadelphia with the picture of DBF and me :) I am planning to do the same with ROute 66 shield, St.Louis Gateway Arch, Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree Park, places visited this summer :)

I'll try to be more regular in posting here, but you can blame Facebook for my absence :)

See you soon here, stay tuned!

Something from the past

Ok, this is what we should call an UFO...and no excuses, you can see when I started it!!

I went to my framer a couple of weeks ago,she had a frame who made for a customer, there, ready and shining. But the measures were wrong, so she told me if I wanted to buy it for a little little price (for a frame like that, with passepartout too!)
So I agreed, even because I know I will use a frame somewhere, somehow!
I took this LHN UFO in my hands and I thought about the frame...well..it's PERFECT! So..let the needle talk, I have to finish it! :)

No finishing in hose days..or, better: nothing I can post here! An exchange piece and a little present for a newborn! :)

Time flies and my departure to USA is approaching...only 5 days to go! I have to organize the last things..and then go to the airport!

Yours in stitches,
Sara

Reading - LHN

This is a finsh of 2008 which was waiting for the perfect frame. This is howhe came home from the framer today! I really do like it! And I think it could be my portrait, a brown haired girl with a book in her hands!

Have a nice day and enjoy your stitching!
