Happy dance! :) Some finishes and Dublin!

Hello! This is a VERY big update...! First of all...my trip to Dublin....it was a wonderful weekend and I am so happy each time I go to Ireland...seems like coming home each time! Here some pictures.

This is the Dublin Writers Museum...Beckett, Swift, Oscar Wilde, G.B. Shaw, Bram Stoker, W.B. Yeats...you only can imagine how many writers are from Ireland...and all of them are between my favourites! Here one of the first editions of James Joyce "Ulysses"

Ok I know it's not really S.Patrick's Day but...I thought those t-shirts were perfect for the occasion!

And now...cross stitch! This is my cross stitching place on the plane! Well organized, isnt'it? :)

This is what I have stitched on the plane...or well, I have started and finished at home, but some stitches were mae on my trip to Dublin! This is an old free from "The Workbasket", I have added the dates of 17, 20, 21 March 2009 to treasure S.Patrick's day and my trip to Dublin!

This is my "Primitive trio"! The result of two QSW, I took inspiration from many of you fellow stitchers, and I think it's a good one!

And...last but not least...another finish: this is "The rain fell" Spring SAL of Little House Country Cottage Stitchers group. It was a good occasion to stitch this one, I love it! And I love it more now finished and framed! I just had to cut some stitches at the top and bottom to fit the frame, but I think it's good anyway!

This weekend I am going to Berlin with my 3 best friends...no doubt I will stitch something anyway!

Weekend update!

I had a very nice weekend...I stitched two primitive Spring patterns, but I will post the picture later...still undecided about the framing even if I have some ideas...
...but this post is about two friends of mine, they wrote a book, and made a presentation of their book in a club last saturday! It was nice because the presentation was during a buffet dinner, so people walked around eating while listening to the guys reading some of their book!
After the presentation and dinner we spent the night in the club. We had a great time, and fun!!

Concerning stitching, I made a change in my stitching rotation this week: today I will not work on LHNCCN Spring SAL but will finish a S.Patrick work...hey, tomorrow it's S.Patrick's day! It will be another fun-night!!

My two new works started!

This is for the Spring Sal of Little House Country Cottage Stitchers Yahoo Group. Chart is "The Rain Fell". I will stitch this design on Mondays and Wednesdays!
(Dylan's Candy Bar box was supposed to be a box for candies, but as I saw it I thought of my floss!! Am I addicted?? ) :D

This is from The Gift Of Stitching Magazine: a mistery SAL which depicts the life of Joan of Arc. It will be in four parts, it started last month so 2 parts to go!
(In the Obama metal box I have thread, scissors and magnet for the needle! hehe!)

Will post my progress at the end of th week!

This one is not a QSW, I finished it during last week. but I found the perfect frame for it!

This is a Tanya's one, and I really LOVE it! I used a Valdani thread, Antique Violet, I think this is the perfect violet for lavender!

Some cross stitch!

Just ask, Nancy! :) Those are my first two finishes in 2009.

This is a chart that I created, to commemorate a great Italian singer, Fabrizio De Andrè, who passed away in 1999, on January the 11th.
This is a part of one of his beautiful songs, "Via del Campo". It means something like "Nothing comes from diamonds, but flowers come from manure". That means that all people has the right to be considered just people and not better or worst just because their lives are different. A big lesson to learn every day.




And...needless to say, this is the Liberty Bell!! I bought the kit at the Independence Visitor Center...but as usual..I changed it! I used my 40 count linen instead of the light yellow Aida provided in the kit, and changed a little the checkered border to add the date and place of my visit...30th December '08. Also changed the sentence below, not "land" but "earth"!


It was such a pleasure to stich such a memory of my visit to Philadelphia! :)

New York and Philadlphia memories...December, 26th 2008 to January, 3rd 2009!

I spent a wonderful time in the United States at the end of 2008. I was in the city that never sleeps..New York. And I was also in th city of brotherly love...and th cradle of the USA...Philadelphia! Here are some pictures... hope you like them!

"It was a cold and wet december day when I touched the ground a JFK"... U2 sang in 1988...this is my first night in NYC...and a hot dog to celebrate it!

Serendipity!!!!! This is their "Frrrrozen Hot Chocolate"! We had one in two after the dinner...it was enough!!!

Wall Street Bull!! We had to fight against lots of people but we won and we took the picture! Hehe! My dear friend Enea said to me that in his 4 trips in NYC was never up to take this picture..better luck next time, my friend! Hehe! :D

New Year's Eve in Times Square!!!! One of the coldest evenings in my life...naaah, the coldest one!! But I really felt like I was at the top of the world that night!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think it was cold???? :D We went in Times Square at about 10 AM to catch good places...we had good places...but the wait was long...and cold...and it was snowing for a while...the only snowy day of my holiday!!!! Grrrr....!!

Before arriving at the Liberty Bell...there was some pictures and stuff, related to the Bell story...this is an embroidered piece of the middle '800....I could never miss this picture!

A really exciting moment: me, dear BF and the Liberty Bell! I felt a little american there...!

Nothing else to say.... the birthplace of USA! And I was there!!

This is where the Declartation of Independence of the USA was signed in 1776... I think that after this visit I will start to celebrate the 4th of July too!

I'm back..and S.Patrick's day is approaching soon!

I'm back...after sooo many months!
First of all, Michelle is the winner of my little contest below....I already wrote her an email, she'lle get her prize soon!
I have changed my blog template and colour because S.Patrick's day is approaching fast!!! I can't wait to that day, unfortunately I will not be in Dublin or NYC, but I will be at "my" pub, drinking as much Guinness as I can and have fun!!!!
